Welcome to Rock Creek
Summer time here is beautiful. High peaks and lodgepole pines surround you, while wildflowers of all colors and serene meadows stretch out before you. You can fish the creek that's just minutes from your cabin. Several trails run directly from the lodge, allowing one to venture to the wild lakes, dense forests, and open meadows of the John Muir Wilderness. You may run into 1800's era Basque Sheperd tree carvings, big horn sheep, deer, grouse, bears, or even a fossil from an ancient sea bed. The sky is always deep blue, the mornings crisp, and the afternoons average about 72 degrees all summer long. For the backcountry climber, Rock Creek Canyon is a quiet paradise. Once you leave the trail and begin across the talus fields or the high meadows, you'll likely encounter few people.
